Back to the lesson: Topic 0.6 — Build: The Display Stand
3D Web · Example 1 of 1

Build: the display stand (the same src/main.js)

This is the exact src/main.js below, with the page's <div id="app">. Open the scene tree: the mark is inside the stand.

Replace the cube with the showroom's first part: a round display stand that turns slowly under the lights, in a page set up for the whole course.

Change the code and press Run (Ctrl+Enter). Predict what will happen first, then break it on purpose and read what changes. Your edits are saved and match the lesson page.

Practice questions

Write the code in the editor, run it, then open the model answer to compare.

01

Make the stand turn twice as fast and give it 6 segments instead of 64. What does it look like now?

02

Add a second mark on the opposite side of the rim, in Lumen's blue #2a9df4.

Explain it without notes

01

Why is the stand moved down by 0.03 instead of left at y = 0?

02

Why does the orange mark turn with the stand without any code of its own?
