A prompt with numbered, delimited sources
The second half shows escaping: a passage that contains the closing tag, followed by a harmless 'say banana' line, stays inside its source.
A RAG prompt has four jobs to do in one string: say what to do, hold the sources, mark where each one starts and ends, and ask the question. A fixed layout with numbered, delimited sources makes answers citeable and failures debuggable.
Change the code and press Run (Ctrl+Enter). Predict what will happen first, then break it on purpose and read what changes. Your edits are saved and match the lesson page.

Practice questions
Write the code in the editor, run it, then open the model answer to compare.
Write escape(text) and wrap(number, doc_id, title, text) that returns the <source ...> block as a string. Print the block for number 1, document D4, title Helmets, text A helmet is included free with every rental.
Write a function assert_balanced(prompt, n) that raises AssertionError if the prompt does not contain exactly n copies of </source>. Call it with a prompt that has one source and n = 1 (no error) and with a prompt whose source text contains </source> unescaped (error). Print what happens.
Explain it without notes
Name the four parts of a RAG prompt and the order you would put them in.
Why number sources 1, 2, 3 in each request instead of citing document ids?
What goes wrong if a source can contain your closing delimiter, and what is the fix?
Why build the prompt in one function?
Expected output
You answer questions about Lumen Bikes using only the numbered sources. Cite the sources you use like [1]. If the sources do not contain the answer, reply exactly: I could not find that in the handbook.
