Start Here: Why React
What React is, the problem it solves, how it thinks about a page, the JavaScript you need first, and your very first React app.
This phase assumes you know a little HTML, CSS and JavaScript and nothing about React. You'll see the problem React was built to solve: keeping a page in step with changing data. You'll compare the same small app written in plain JavaScript and in React, and learn the one idea the whole library rests on: the screen is a function of your data.
Then you'll check the JavaScript you need, meet your tools, and build your first React app twice: once right here in the live editor, and once as a real project on your own computer with Vite.
Every React example on these pages is real React 19 running in your browser. Change the code and the preview updates beside it.
